Your chance of receiving up to £25,000 towards your first home is ending sooner than you think.

Applications for the First Home Fund close on Friday, October 2nd at 6pm. That’s just a few days away. 

What is the fund?

The Scottish Government started the scheme in December 2019, with the goal of making it easier for First Time buyers to get on the property ladder and buy a home that meets their needs.

The fund is open to all First Time buyers in Scotland, including single and joint buyers. You are not restricted to the price of the property you want to buy – so, this scheme means it’s easier than ever to buy your dream home.

How to apply

Before applying, you must have a formal or verbal offer accepted on an existing home or have reserved a new-build property.

    No, applications for 2021-22 funding can only be submitted when the scheme re-opens, via the online form available here.

  • I have decided against buying the property I was approved to buy with support from the First Home Fund: can I change the property or do I need to re-apply? Chevron Down IconIcon set Chevron Down

    You must re-apply if the property you originally intended to buy changes. The only exception is a different plot number with a property of the same value and builder within the same development, prior to receipt of Solicitors Confirmation Letter.

    To ensure fairness and consistency for all applications no exceptions can be made – please allow sufficient time to submit applications before the deadline.

    Funding for the next financial year will be announced in due course, following the results of the Spending Review. The Link Homes and Scottish Government websites will be updated with full details when available.
